Sunday, April 19, the Earth Days Nelson held a downtown celebration and parade to mark the world’s 56th Earth Day, April 22. Kootenay Coop Radio and The EcoCentric were there and bring some voices of participants.

Founder and instructor emeritus from the Kootenay Art Therapy Institute in Nelson, Monica Carpendale is bringing out a new book co written with her son, Will Parker. She tells us about art, therapy and mental health and the environment AND about the book launch on Earth Day in Nelson.

Vancouver singer-songwriter Luke Wallace has two shows in the Kootenays, in Nelson, April 24 and Kaslo April 25. He tells us how his concerts are participatory and uplifting and empowering.

Architect Lukas Armstrong will discuss the design and systems in this unique building.

Launch of new BC Public Transit Alliance

Advocacy organizations from across BC are coming together on Tuesday, April 28th to launch the new Public Transit Alliance of BC.

The province’s Parliamentary Secretary for Transportation and Transit, George Anderson, MLA will be one of the presenters at the zoom launch. Paul Adams from the BC Rural Health Network will also be speaking. Transportation planner Eric Doherty from Victoria will outline the new Alliance’s goals for transit in the lower mainland and across the province.

I’m going to be one of the voices from the BC hinterland talking about the despearte need for better public transit for the KJootenays.
