Webinar: Mapping Fracking’s impact on community health
Register for zoom.
The Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment CAPE Nova Scotia is hosting a webinar entitled Drilling Down on Cancer: Mapping Fracking’s Impact on Community Health.
When residents living near oil and gas developments raise alarms about rising cancer rates in their neighbourhoods, their concerns are too often sidelined by industry and governments that frequently write off local cancer spikes as “statistically insignificant.”
Speaker is Environmental health researcher Dr. Lauren Minsky, who is the creator of the People’s Cancer Incidence Screening Tool (PCIST), a validated tool that helps identify localized cancer patterns and examine their relationship with nearby fracking wells and oil and gas infrastructure.
A Q&A session will follow the presentation.
