At its July 7th meeting Nelson City Council is considering the building bylaw to meet the provincial energy code. The Zero Carbon Step code will eliminate fossil fuel burning from most uses in homes and other buildings by 2030. Marc Brillon with Ellenwood Homes says they have been meeting that standard for years already and the industry is ready.
In it’s omnibus Spring Economic Update the Marc Carney government had several important changes to laws, including the Canadian Pesticide Management legislation. The bill gives cabinet ministers the power to override regulation safety standards for pesticides when they deem it necessary.
