Climate, peace and social justice organizations world-wide have called a global event for Saturday, September 20, and the Kootenays response with events in Nelson and Castlegar.  Monica Carpendale with Kootenay Lake Seniors for Climate tells us what’s happening here.

Local forest protector Joe Karthein and Save What’s Left came out with a report on the devastating impact of BC Timber Sales on old growth and forests.  He comes back to tell us about that and give us an update on what’s planned for local clear cuts and opposition.

While China is rapidly electrifying it’s entire economy, and becoming the world’s largest car maker, mostly EV, Canada is still putting billions into an oil and gas industry run by multinational fossil giants. Journalist Markham Hislop with Energi Media is a close observer of oil and energy economics and he says the clean energy transition is picking up speed fast.  How could Canada be making such a bad (and giant) bet on the future of oil and gas?
