April is a big Earth month in Nelson with environmental events all month. It’s right around the corner so Judith Fearing from the Earth Days Nelson group is back to tell us about some of the exciting things to take part in.

The West Kootenay Watershed Collaborative held its big World Water Day symposium in Nelson this past weekend. A great turnout highlighted the importance of local water in the Kootenay community. One keynote speaker, Maude Barlow, founder of the council of Canadians explained how World-wide water is becoming an increasingly scarce resource.

The Wilderness Committee’s Eric Reder says Canada and the world needs Mark Carney the Values environmentalist, not just Carney the banker. Canada has been going back and forth on sustainability, he explains in an depth analysis.
