Ron Berezan, the Urban Farmer from Powell River has visited Cuban permaculture farmers and gardeners over 40 times, leading tours of Canadians interested in learning about Cuba’s agriculture revolution. The permaculture change was of course mothered by necessity.  He tells us about the resilience of Cubans and local-based food.

March 22nd is World Water Day and it has long been celebrated in the Kootenays, especially the Slocan Valley. This year the West Kootenay Watershed Collaborative is hosting an ambitious symposium on Sunday, March 22nd. Mari Greene and Ramona Faust speak about the symposium’s offerings.

Opening the show, because these are doom black times, with a light of hope from American writer Rebecca Solnit. In just a few words she repaints our world with a light brush of hope and colour. Nice ladies are changing the world. And solar self-sufficiency in Cuba.
