LISTEN OR DOWNLOAD FEBRUARY 24 SHOW HERE:
Under the federal Species at Risk Act, the federal government committed to protecting habitat for southern mountain caribou, over ten years ago. Now Wildsight, EcoJustice and other conservation organizations are going back to court to push Canada to follow through on commitments. Eddie Petryshen from Wildsight tells us about the need for the court case.
Nelson local Dan Grec put solar panels on his house, and started saving money. He tells us about the great deal he made with rooftop solar. Dan explains how the system won’t cost them anything and will bring savings in just a few years, all while helping Nelson Hydro with extra power.
Canada is re-casting our industrial strategy and a group of Canadian organizations have published a report, Connecting the Dots, outlining advantages to clean nation-building projects. One of the reports authors, Ollie Sheldrick from Clean Energy Canada explains.
