Solita Work is back for a show on cycling and transportation. Guests on the show talk about biking in the Kootenays and possible projects to make it better. Max Dumoulin who’s work’s on GIS development at Selkirk College has constructed an online mapping project on Kootenay bike routes that’s about to launch. Blewett residents, Chris and Nicole Charlwood are spearheading a grassroots campaign for a cycling and pedestrian bridge across the Kootenay on the old piers at Taghum. Kevin Armstrong builds custom bikes at Six Miles bikes has some innovative ideas for maintaining the highway shoulders, used by many cyclists along the North Shore. As Solita says: “There are a bunch of us here in the West Kootenays that all want bicycle infrastructure from Santa this year.”
