Active transportation summit in Kimberley brings activists from all over BC

Ciel Sander and her partner decided to ride their bikes from home in Greenwood to the BC active transportation summit in Kimberley, including the rail trail up over Paulson between Christina Lake and Castlegar. The trip took days but Ciel Sander a long term activist with Trails BC doesn’t think twice about setting out on a hundreds of kilometers long road trip.
In Kimberley, local biking enthusiasts hold a Coffee Outside meet up every week. They decided to host the active transporation summit folks at a 7 am coffee in the fresh air. Robert Lester one of the movers behind Coffee Outside in Kimberley tell us about this year-round tradition.
Santana Patten is a city planner with Cranbrook where she has helped bring in a cycling path network over recent years. She found time to lean in to the Kimberley transportation summit too, and tells us about putting together activities for people from around the province.
