Sept 19 2021 Candidates on climate action, blocking TransMountain construction in Burnaby, more old growth action

SEPT 13 NELSON RALLY FOR OLD GROWTH AT MLA’s OFFICE with ‘clay man’.

Local candidates talking about the climate crisis from both the Kootenay Columbia and South Okanagan West Kootenay ridings.

The uprising continues at Ada’itsx, Fairy Creek, on Vancouver Island which has now become the largest civil disobedience event in Canadian history. Protests against old growth logging continue throughout BC including in the Kootenays and we have a short personal story.

For over a year protestors have blocked the construction route of the TransMountain Bitumen pipeline project in Burnaby. Arrests were made again last week while activists camped high in the trees to block clearing of the route. We talk to one of those activists, Maureen Curran about the ongoing action.
